Trusty Membership Changes

Greetings Trusty Skeevers!

This note is to let you know that we will be making changes to the membership requirements for Trusty Skeever Emporium. Making this decision wasn’t easy and honestly has been something we have been mulling over for a number of months. (Well, at least since March when Update 41 came out.) Changes to the game’s API broke a number of older addons that we’ve been using for guild data management. This meant that data that was easily accessible is now much more difficult and time consuming to  track. (I am more than happy to explain this in more detail, but most people just wouldn’t be interested.) Additionally, Update 42 made it so that items only stay in the guildstore for 14 days. Over the past few years, we have steadily been getting better and better traders, but with that it has become much more expensive. Having members who may buy or sell less than 100g worth of items in a month isn’t sustainable for the guild even though they are meeting our current membership requirements.

Instead of reinventing the membership wheel, we are going to change Trusty’s membership structure to Scheming Skeever’s structure – which has been very functional for a number of years. Please don’t worry – we aren’t instituting minimum sales, however, we are going to ask for a 5000 gold contribution each month. This contribution can be met a number of ways (see below). If you are a Generous or Fortune 500 Skeever, you are exempt from this requirement. Honestly, having everyone contribute this much per month doesn’t even TOUCH the cost of our trader, but it will, hopefully, encourage people to be more active overall in supporting our mission of being a quality trading guild. We still feel that we will be an extremely affordable option for more casual players. 

Trusty Skeever Requirements

1) Required Monthly Contribution 
Members must make a 5k per MONTH contribution. If done as gold, it needs to be 5k or more in ONE bulk deposit (i.e. NOT spread out over the month). Sources for contributions include: raffle tickets, gold donation, auction purchase, item donation, or auction donation. (Officers, Fortune 500 or Generous Skeevers are exempt from the 5k requirement.) 

2) Maintain Active Membership
In order to be considered active, two of the following three things must be true. 

The member: 
A) must have been online within the last 14 days 
B) must have sales or purchases within the last 14 days 
C) must have made their current monthly contribution (be a Golden Skeever)

Monthly Member Rollover 
Member rollover will happen at the end of the month and at that point any members who still have the rank of Endangered (i.e. haven’t made the monthly contribution), will be removed. 

Removed members can always request a re-invite.

Changes to Rank Names
We will be renaming some of our ranks.

Skeever will be renamed Golden Skeever. This means you are updated on your monthly contribution.

Inactive will be renamed Endangered (Mon). This means that you still owe your contribution for the month (Mon). ALL Golden Skeevers roll back to Endangered on the last day of the month. 

We will be adding the rank of Skeeverling. This is the seven day waiting period rank for all new members after they have received their welcome mail.

In order to support this change, we are expanding our membership officer ranks who will be in charge of promoting Skeeverlings and Endangered members to Golden once they have made their monthly contribution.

We will be starting this new structure starting July 1, 2024. To facilitate this, all members who purchased 5 or more tickets for the Zenithar raffle will be given the Golden rank for July.

Some advantages to this system are that 1) members can always look up their rank to see if they have made their monthly contribution, and 2) we will send out a reminder mail to endangered members toward the end of the month.

We know that we will lose some members because of this change and for that, we are sorry. While change can be difficult, we are doing our best to maintain the health and stability of the guild. We feel confident that the majority of our members want the same.
